The Compliance & Risk Specialist supports the effective implementation and continuous improvement of Vodafone PNG's Risk Management and Compliance Framework. The role is responsible for assisting the business in identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating risks while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, and governance requirements. The position contributes to strengthening internal controls, enhancing risk awareness, supporting business resilience, and promoting a culture of compliance across the organization.

Job Description

  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Company's enterprise risk management, governance, compliance, and internal control frameworks.

  • Facilitate risk assessments and maintain enterprise and operational risk registers across business functions.

  • Monitor key risks, compliance obligations, and mitigation actions, escalating significant issues where appropriate.

  • Conduct compliance reviews and control assessments to ensure adherence to Company policies, internal controls, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Support compliance with applicable Papua New Guinea legislation and regulatory requirements, including those administered by the Bank of Papua New Guinea (BPNG), Internal Revenue Commission (IRC), National Information and Communication Technology Authority (NICTA), the Companies Act 1997, AML/CTF legislation, and other relevant statutory obligations.

  • Support the investigation, reporting, and resolution of risk incidents, compliance breaches, regulatory matters, and control weaknesses.

  • Track and monitor the timely implementation of actions arising from audits, risk assessments, regulatory reviews, and compliance activities.

  • Prepare risk and compliance reports, dashboards, and management updates.

  • Assist with risk and compliance reviews relating to new projects, products, systems, and business initiatives.

  • Promote a culture of integrity, accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement across the organization

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Management, Economics, Law, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Risk Management, Compliance, Internal Audit, Governance, Revenue Assurance, or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of risk management, compliance, governance, internal controls, and financial crime risk management principles.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Power BI, and reporting tools.
