The Graduate Accountant – Warehouse will play a key role in supporting the efficient management of inventory, stock accounting, financial controls, and warehouse operations. This position provides an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to gain practical experience in inventory management, financial reporting, stock reconciliation, and supply chain accounting within a dynamic and fast-paced telecommunications environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Finance and Warehouse teams to ensure inventory accuracy, compliance with company policies, and the timely processing of stock transactions. This role offers valuable exposure to inventory accounting practices, operational finance, and business processes while providing opportunities for professional development and career growth.

Job Description

• Process stock order requests and ensure timely and accurate issuance of inventory items.

• Monitor inventory movements, including stock receipts, transfers, returns, adjustments, and disposals, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and supported by relevant documentation.

• Maintain inventory records and warehouse documentation in accordance with company policies, procedures, and audit requirements.

• Assist in inventory costing and pricing activities, ensuring accurate valuation of stock in accordance with accounting standards and company guidelines.

• Monitor stock inflows and outflows to ensure inventory levels are maintained and discrepancies are promptly identified and investigated.

• Perform monthly inventory reconciliations and investigate variances between physical stock and system records.

• Assist in preparing month-end inventory reports and supporting schedules for management reporting purposes.

• Participate in periodic and annual stock take exercises and ensure accurate recording and reporting of stock count results.

• Work closely with Warehouse personnel to improve inventory control processes and maintain stock integrity.

• Assist in identifying slow-moving, obsolete, damaged, or excess inventory and provide recommendations for appropriate action.

• Support internal and external audit processes by providing required documentation, reconciliations, reports, and explanations.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, financial controls, inventory management procedures, and relevant accounting standards.

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing warehouse and inventory management processes.

• Undertake other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager, or other designated supervisors.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.

• Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and inventory accounting concepts.

• Sound analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.

• Experience with ERP systems or accounting software will be an advantage.

• Strong numerical and reconciliation skills with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced operational setting.
