The Internal Investigator will support security operations by conducting preliminary investigations, gathering information, and assisting in the resolution of incidents related to theft, misconduct, or policy violations. The role involves preparing reports, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with internal teams and external agencies to ensure a safe and secure environment.

Job Description

  • Assist in conducting investigations into security incidents, breaches, or suspicious activities within the organization.
  • Collect evidence, review security footage, and gather information to aid in the investigation process.
  • Conduct interviews with employees, witnesses, and relevant parties to gather information and statements regarding security
  • incidents or concerns.
  • Document findings accurately and maintain confidentiality throughout the investigation process.
  • Prepare detailed reports summarizing investigation findings, including evidence collected, witness statements, and analysis.
  • Present findings to the security team or management as required, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and objectivity.
  • Assist in monitoring and enforcing compliance with security policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Identify areas for improvement and recommend enhancements to strengthen security measures within the organization.
  • Work closely with the security team to coordinate investigation efforts and ensure a timely and effective response to security
  • incidents.
  • Provide support during emergency situations or crisis events, such as security breaches, threats, or natural disasters.
  • Follow established protocols and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of personnel and assets.
  • Is familiar with and can operate a Class B firearm would be an advantage

Desired Skills and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or training in security, investigations, or law enforcement is preferred.
  • Proven experience in a security-related role, with knowledge of investigative techniques, evidence handling, and report writing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to conduct interviews, communicate findings effectively, and
  • collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting.
  • Flexibility to work non-standard hours and respond to security incidents or emergencies on short notice.
  • Proficiency in using excel and word for evidence collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of security regulations, laws, and industry standards.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Must have a current class six (6) PNG driver's license.
  • Firearm proficiency
  • A former police detective for over 6years with some work experience. At management level in the corporate (private) organization.
  • Good negotiation skills.
  • Must have good networking with Police and other law enforcement agencies.
  • Ability to conduct Record of interviews (ROI) with offending employees.
  • Provide detailed Investigations Report in a timely manner.
  • Must be prepared to travel to the Regions.
  • Maintain professionalism, right attitude with good work ethics.
