We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Telepower Manager to lead, optimize and oversee all telecommunications power operations across the national network. This role carries end-to-end accountability for the reliability, efficiency and resilience of AC and DC power systems supporting all Radio Base Station (RBS) sites, transmission nodes, core network facilities and other critical infrastructure.

The Telepower Manager will be responsible for ensuring uninterrupted power availability across urban, rural and remote sites through effective management of generators, battery systems, rectifiers, solar and hybrid power solutions. The role will drive operational excellence by improving uptime performance, reducing power-related outages, optimizing fuel consumption, and strengthening preventive maintenance frameworks.

Job Description

  • Lead operation and maintenance of all AC and DC power systems.
  • Ensure proactive maintenance and rapid fault restoration of telepower systems.
  • Oversee generators, battery systems, rectifiers and inverter systems.
  • Manage solar and hybrid power systems across the network.
  • Own and deliver power-related KPIs for Network Operations.
  • Lead planning, installation, testing and commissioning of new power systems.
  • Manage vendors, fuel logistics and maintenance contracts.
  • Deploy emergency and temporary power solutions.
  • Drive energy optimisation and sustainability initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety and regulatory standards.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in telecommunications power systems.
  • Strong knowledge of DC systems, rectifiers, generators and battery technologies.
  • Experience with solar and hybrid energy systems.
  • Proven leadership and vendor management experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Electrical Wireman’s License (advantage).
  • IT/IP knowledge and generator programming experience (advantage).
