The Senior Engineer role will be responsible to plan, dimension and engineer the specifications for IP & MPLS based transport technologies. The senior level will execute tasks similar to an Engineer level, but in addition will typically work on more complex, large impact projects to architect solutions through the broader and deeper experience in IP transport domain.

Job Description

  • Supports IP Infrastructure and ISP Network
  • Planning and dimensioning of Backbone and Backhaul network elements like IP based MW, Fiber, Satellite, and other access network transport facilities. 
  • Apply stringent design techniques for capacity dimensioning on Backhaul networks.
  • Finalize design specifications of new systems and services, improve design aspects of existing systems and services and formulate respective design documents.
  • Plan and design redundancy and resiliency of major networks to provide telecom grade services with 99.999% availability. 
  • Plan, design and set procedures to eliminate single points of failure to backbone networks and all  mission critical components and services. 
  • Ensure effective and immediate backup facility in the event of system and network failures.
  • Assess network and system performance. Identify opportunities for network and system optimization, development, and upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues
  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure expected business outcomes are achieved
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure successful implementation of network solutions
  • Provide technical expertise to sales teams to support pre-sales activities.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Computing, Information Technology, Networks, or related discipline.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification at a minimum.
  • Proven track record of designing, implementing, and supporting complex network infrastructure solutions as a Senior Networks/IP Transport engineer.
  • Knowledge of GSM/UMTS/LTE equipment and Telecom industry knowledge would be an added advantage.
  • Ability to multitask and have good time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective stakeholder management & conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines with minimal supervision
